Special Days

Celebrating together

From national and religious holidays to meaningful days, from activities with family participation to special day celebrations; moments that children discover, make sense of and share together in accordance with their ages.

We see special days not only as dates marked on the calendar, but also as an opportunity for children to learn about the society, values and each other.

We deal with national days such as 23 April, 29 October and 10 November; religious holidays, and socially meaningful days such as 1 May and 24 November in a language suitable for the age of the children. Instead of memorizing or just preparing a show, we open up space for children to wonder, ask questions, and make sense of their world, starting with the question “Why does it matter today?”

Our activities with family participation are also an important part of our school life. We involve families in school life with workshops with parents, nature activities, picnics and periodic meetings. The fact that the child sees his/her family at school supports him/her to feel belonging and to strengthen the bond between school and home.

For us, special days are good opportunities to remember, understand, share and learn to value together.
